Combining the earnest tone and formal elements of
1940’s war effort posters with the opportunistic use
of patriotism, this campaign urges gay consumers to
resist targeting by savvy, “gay-friendly” marketers.
The project also positions the butch lesbian as an
embodiment of the truly revolutionary American
spirit.
